Daftra Academy

Terms of use

Last updated: 19 October 2026

These terms govern your use of the Daftra Academy platform and your account on it. When you create an account you confirm that you agree to them and to the privacy policy, and we record the time you agreed. If you do not agree, do not create an account.

Who runs the Academy

Daftra Academy is part of the Daftra service, which is owned and operated by Izam, Inc. These terms cover the Academy only. If you also use Daftra's other services, such as its accounting software, that use is governed by Daftra's terms and conditions, and any matter these terms do not address is governed by those terms too.

The platform and what it offers

The Academy offers courses made up of written and video lessons and assessments, and issues certificates of completion to those who meet a course's requirements. Courses can be browsed without an account; enrolling, tracking your progress and earning certificates require one. The platform does not currently charge any fee and does not collect any payment details.

Your account

  • Give accurate details, and your name above all, because it is the name that will be printed on your certificates.
  • An account is for one person. Do not share yours, and do not use anyone else's.
  • Keep your password confidential: you are responsible for what happens through your account. If you suspect someone has got into it, change your password, end your other sessions from the "Security and privacy" page, and let us know.

Acceptable use

When using the platform, you agree not to:

  • Publish or circulate assessment questions or answers, or have someone else take an assessment for you.
  • Try to obtain a certificate without genuinely meeting its requirements, for example by marking lessons complete without studying them, or by using automated tools to do so.
  • Post abusive, promotional or off-topic content in reviews or comments.
  • Impersonate anyone, or claim a connection to the Academy that you do not have.
  • Upload harmful files, try to reach anything not made available to you, get around security controls, or harvest the platform's data automatically, including by trying certificate numbers one after another on the verification page.
  • Disrupt the platform or overload its servers.

Course content

The content published on the platform, including lessons, videos, text, assessments and files, belongs to the Academy or to those who have permitted it to be published, and is made available to you for your own personal learning. You may not copy, record, republish or sell it, or use it in commercial training, without our written permission.

Some courses are prepared by instructors who may be from outside the Academy's team. We may update, change or withdraw a course. Some lessons may open on a schedule, or only after you have completed the ones before them or a prerequisite course. Some videos are shown through YouTube or Vimeo, and watching them is also subject to those services' terms.

The content is provided for learning purposes and is not professional advice, whether accounting, tax or legal, for your particular situation.

Assessments

Assessments are marked automatically, and your attempts and their results are kept in your account. Some assessments may limit the number of attempts, and you may be asked to review particular lessons before new attempts become available.

Certificates

  • A certificate is issued automatically when you meet a course's requirements: completing its required lessons, and passing its final assessment where the course requires one. No certificate is ever issued by hand.
  • A certificate is a statement by Daftra Academy that the account holder named on it completed the course's requirements on the platform on the date it was issued. It attests to nothing more than that.
  • A certificate is not an academic degree or a professional licence, and it carries no accreditation from any governmental, academic or professional body.
  • We do not verify the identity of account holders. The name printed on a certificate is the name on the account at the moment it was issued.
  • Anyone can verify a certificate by its number, as explained in the privacy policy.
  • Certificates do not currently carry an expiry date, and they remain valid even if you close your account.
  • We may revoke a certificate if it was issued in error, if it turns out that its requirements were not genuinely met, if its holder has breached these terms, or if its holder asks us to. The verification page will then show it as revoked, and its file can no longer be downloaded. If a certificate contains a mistake, a corrected copy can be issued under the same number.

What you post on the platform

  • Reviews: you can rate a course once you have completed it. Our team checks the text of a review before it is published and may decline it if it is abusive, promotional, off-topic, or gives away assessment answers. An accepted review is published with your full name and photo.
  • Comments: visible to everyone who can open the lesson. You can delete your own comments, and our team may remove any that breach these terms.
  • Your profile photo: must not breach these terms or infringe anyone else's rights.

What you write remains yours. By posting it on the platform you permit the Academy to display it there, on the course or instructor page it relates to.

Deactivating and closing accounts

You can close your account at any time from the "Security and privacy" page, and what happens then is set out in the privacy policy.

We may deactivate an account if its holder breaches these terms, for security reasons, if it is a duplicate, if it has been inactive for a long time, or at its holder's request. We may also cancel an enrolment in a course if it was made in error, is a duplicate, or its holder no longer meets the course's conditions. The holder of a deactivated account cannot sign in, and deactivation alone does not cancel certificates already issued.

Limitation of liability

We aim to keep the platform available and its content accurate, but we provide it as it is and as available. It may occasionally be interrupted for maintenance or for reasons beyond our control, and the content may contain mistakes. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Academy is not liable for indirect losses arising from using, or being unable to use, the platform, or for decisions anyone makes on the strength of its content or its certificates.

Third-party services

The platform includes services from other parties, such as YouTube and Vimeo videos and the add-to-LinkedIn button. Those services are subject to their own terms and policies.

Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. When we do, we publish the revised version on this page and update its date. If you do not agree with a change, you can close your account.
